ABOUT
Amanda Hunt is a Jamaican born, Actor, playwright and filmmaker based in Queens, NYC. Since earning her BFA in Acting at Howard University, she showcased her talents on both the stage, and the screen in a diverse range of projects. In Theatre,she played the lead role in the world premiere of Charly Evon Simpson’s play form of a girl unknown and Beneatha Younger in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, both earning her rave reviews.
In 2023, she made her TV debut with a recurring role in the Hulu original series Saint X.
As an artist, she finds equal satisfaction in creating her own work -- especially stories focused on Jamaica and the immigrant experience. She produced and starred in a web series entitled Manda, which earned her the NYC Women’s fund grant. She has also produced and starred in two award winning independent films -- April Again (2019), and The Sound of Southside (2024).
She is a published playwright, and she believes wholeheartedly in being self-sufficient and resourceful with her creativity.
