Wedding Planning Update!

Baayybeee! My wedding is right around the corner. I say this now but it still doesn't even feel real.

Wedding planning has been in overdrive and it's all been truly exciting. When most people ask how wedding planning is going they expect me to say that I'm stressed beyond belief and hanging on by a rinky dink thread. I know this, because they're always shocked when I say I'm not stressed and it's going great. Someone even said to me "I'm glad you're not stressed 'yet'". Excuse me? I don't intend on letting this process stress me out...ever 😎We thank Jesus for that!

We've gotten so much done so far-- I mean, we solidified our venues and all our major vendors within a few months of being engaged. Now all that's left are the smaller details but like I always say no detail is really small.

THINGS WE'VE DONE SO FAR!

Booked our Venue: Our reception will be at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in Queens, NY! It's the most perfect place. I'm an actor, Ty's a filmmaker so our reception being in a theatre makes more sense than anything I could think of.Queens is the backdrop of our love story and where we plan to own a home and raise beautiful healthy babies one day so of course our wedding had to be in Queens. Our ceremony will be in our home church where we met. I shared more about that in this post.

I picked up my wedding dress (Haute Couture🔥) It's currently at the seamstress where I'll be heading for my second fitting on August 7th! 😄

We had our wedding cake tasting just yesterday with @mdivinedelights (August 3rd) and told sis she had the job on the spot! Every cake was so yummy and she will be one of many Black Woman owned businesses at our wedding. She's also based in Queens!

We also have our photographer, videographer, caterer, my makeup artist and florist down!

Things we still have to get down:

  • Our wedding bands. Watch my new vlog to see us pick them out!

  • Ty's suit. He picked it out now it's time to get it home😆

  • My hair stylist. I'm super nervous about someone other than me or my sisters in my hair but I've been in contact with a natural hair stylist and I'm setting up a trial soon.

  • Engagement photos. We're taking those this Sunday (August 8th)

The list goes on but I'm just grateful to have so many things already crossed off.

I didn't share too much about my vendors in this post because I'll be writing a post after the wedding with every single one of my vendors and the story behind how we chose them to be a part of our big day! They're all (except the florist) Black owned businesses!

Until then, here's a weekly vlog of me running around the city handling some wedding errands.
