Hey hey hey!
Let's talk about Clay Washes for your hair and if you're a naturalista or just someone who cares about natural hair care, this is for you boo!
So I've been using the Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Wash (also known as Rhassoul Clay) mixed with Aloe Vera water for a long time now and it all started back when I had moisture overload/ hygral fatigue. My hair was falling out in clumps and I had no idea what to do and how to revive it.
You can actually watch this video to hear me talk about everything I did to get my hair back to normal and also how to tell if you have moisture overload and how to prevent it. I was at a point where my hair was recovering and I wanted to do something extra to give it a health boost so I tried a clay wash and I haven't looked back since. This was in 2017.
So this is why I LOVE clay washes and why I think you NEED it in your hair care routine--Specifically Ghassoul Clay.
It conditions your hair, leaving it soft and nourished with minerals and nutrients.
It is excellent for removing impurities and toxins from your hair. It strips your hair of product build up without stripping it of it's natural oils. A clay wash can substitute shampoo but I don't recommend doing that all the time. Personally, I shampoo my scalp once and then I'll do my clay wash.
It improves your curl definition--every single time.
It aids in detangling.
It clears clogged pores in your scalp.
It reduces dryness and flakiness of your hair and scalp.
It contains silica which works as an exfoliant and gives your hair a beautiful sheen.
When you use a clay wash you are detoxing your hair and scalp. It's a natural form of hair care that has been around for more years than I can count. It's the most amazing *hidden, not so hidden* gem of the beauty world and I truly hope everyone discoveries how amazing it is!
To see how I make and use my clay wash, watch the video below. I hope this helps you in a great way and if it did, share it with someone you think it would help as well.
*this is a recipe I modified from Laila Washington, on Youtube. You can do it just like me or you can add essential oils. We all have different hair needs so make sure to always do what's best for your hair because what works for me might not always work for you.*
